The Ladew Gardens are located at 3535 Jarrettsville Pike, Monkton, MD, 21111. They can be reached off I95 at Exit 74. See website for details. The gardens include several themed, brick walled gardens including one of the most extensive topiary gardens in the Eastern U.S. There is also a Nature Walk and a manor house built in 1747. There is no photography allowed in the house but tripods are allowed on the grounds with minor restrictions. The original stables now house a café open for lunch. The gardens open at 10:30AM so members who wish to car pool should meet at the firehouse at 8:30AM for the two hour trip. Admission to the grounds and gardens is $10 (seniors $8) and to the house, $13 ($11). The number there is 410-557-9570.
