This National Park Service location is best known for its lotus and summer waterlilies, but offers a wider array of photographic opportunities. These include birds (some herons are “commonly” seen), amphibians, and bugs, including dragon flies (and probably mosquitoes). The park’s Water Lotus and Lily Festival begins July 15, and several club members have posted beautiful images of this year’s blooms.

We’ll meet at the Gardens at 8:30 am on July 8, although you can arrive when the park officially opens at 7:00 am. We won’t be doing a sign-up list for this trip; in case the weather is an issue, personal judgment will prevail. If there is interest, we’ll arrange a lunch gathering while we’re at the park.
