I have been involved with photography in one way or another since I was in middle school with my trusty Kodak pocket Instamatic camera and flash cubes. My 22 years in the Air Force gave me the opportunity to visit and live in many countries starting with my first assignment following pilot training in Iceland. I have gone through many makes and types of cameras, but these days I am shooting with a Nikon D500. Travel photography has always been one of my main interests as I wanted a way to document the great places my wife and I have been able to enjoy whether it was Europe, the Far East, or South America. After retiring From the Air Force, I joined the corporate world which took me to places around the United States that I would not have normally seen. I had the opportunity to meet with people from all walks of life who shared my enthusiasm for photography. These days interspersed between trips to overseas locations, with camera in hand, I have been making more trips to visit our many national parks. This included my trip from Fairfax Station to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on my Harley. Currently, I’m working to improve my skills with Lightroom and Photoshop and of course, learning new techniques to shoot better photographs.
