Lawrence Jackson is a photo-journalist and former White House photographer for the Obama Administration. Prior to that, he spent 18 years working for The Virginian-Pilot and The Associated Press – in Boston and Washington, DC. Since leaving the White House in 2017, Lawrence has been building his editorial photography business telling/documenting stories for news organizations, corporations, families and political events. He has published a book which looks back on his 8 years as a White House photographer, entitled “Yes We Did”.

Lawrence’s approach to making pictures is finding the emotion, information and the aesthetics to visually tell the story. These principles can be applied to any situation you find yourself in as a photographer.
